Spicy Chipotle BBQ Sauce
Regular BBQ sauce is loaded with unhealthy ingredients like large amounts of refined sugar (aka high-fructose corn syrup, glucose syrup, etc.) So this healthy BBQ sauce is a must!! It’s free of refined sugar, gluten, dairy, corn and soy and it doesn’t have any ingredients you can’t pronounce either. No natural or artificial flavours or colours here, just pure, wholesome, delicious ingredients.
This recipe will be mildly spicy, but you can always omit the cayenne or add more!
Serves: Just under 2 cups
Ingredients:
3/4 cup organic tomato paste
3/4 cup balsamic vinegar
1/2-1 tsp chipotle powder (the more you use the spicier it will be)
1/2 tsp himalayan salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp garlic or 1-2 cloves raw garlic (raw garlic gives this sauce a better flavour)
1 tsp paprika
1/4 tsp cayenne
Optional for added sweetness: 1 Tbsp raw local honey
For the best flavour cook in a saucepan on medium-low for 10 mins, using water to thin if needed.
Directions:
Mix all ingredients well in a bowl or mason jar and serve with your favourite meal!
